Environmental Ethics
All our efforts at Odd Fellows stand on a foundation of preserving our environment.
Fermentation is a technique used across cultures to preserve the goodness in nature - keeping things fresh and tasty.
With this in mind, our ethics guide our decisions to deliver high quality nutrition keeping all things natural in peak state - our bodies, microbes as well as the Earth.
Sourcing Decisions
The biggest advantage of being a handcrafted small-batch brewer is the way we source our raw produce. All our produce and bottles are sourced locally through ethical vendors who share our vision towards building a sustainable world.
You'll notice that all our flavour profiles carry fruits and veggies that grow in our local circle, actively avoiding using fruits such as Kiwi or spices such as Korean salts for our ferments, keeping our promise to stay local and buy local always alive.
This decision has helped us make our brews super fresh and fizzy - avoiding the entire process of cold storage produce that negates our efforts instead.
Brew Bottles
Our glass bottles are all reusable, using metallic lug caps that give each one of us the option to keep using these tiny brew bottles in our homes.
We ask all our customers to consciously consume our brews and return the bottles they can, so we keep reducing our carbon footprint. This allows us to even reuse those labels, keeping all waste down to a minimum.
It all starts from us - as humans we always have a choice.
Delivery Boxes
Our cardboard boxes and sourdough bags are all eco-friendly. We are also aware of the thin plastic lining that the labels carry, which we actively look out to reuse while also looking for better alternatives as we grow our reach.
The better our brews perform, the more resources we gather to keep upgrading our efforts towards removing all single use plastic.
Love for Green
Our love for seeing nature at play is always making us grow our own produce, plant more diversity and care for the plantations around us.
Our ferments are absolutely zero-waste, composting all the fermented by-products into our soil - making it super nutritious and wholesome.
After reusing our coffee grinds/tea leaves multiple times, we say goodbye to these wonders by adding them to our manure. This has ensured our plantations get rich diversity in terms of bacteria and thrive in all seasons!
